PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION

Privacy Policy

How Wynsee collects, uses, protects and shares personal information when you use our websites, software, reports and support services.

Last updated · August 26, 2026

This policy is designed to provide clear privacy information for customers and visitors internationally, including where laws such as the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles, New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and applicable U.S. state privacy laws apply. Specific statutory rights apply only where the relevant law applies to you or Wynsee.

1. Scope and who we are

Wynsee provides search and AI visibility intelligence, website auditing, monitoring, reporting and related software services. This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through Wynsee websites, applications, customer accounts, support channels, chatbot, billing interactions and related services.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Wynsee at hello@wynsee.ai. Where applicable, Wynsee acts as the controller or business responsible for personal information collected directly from its customers and visitors. When a customer provides personal information to Wynsee for processing solely on that customer's instructions, the parties' respective roles may instead be governed by applicable data-protection law and contractual terms.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Wynsee, we may collect or process:

  • Account and contact data: name, email address, position or job title, company name, business address, website and phone number(s).
  • Subscription and transaction data: plan, subscription status, billing interval, transaction identifiers and payment-related metadata. Payment card details may be handled directly by our payment provider rather than stored by Wynsee.
  • Customer content: domains and websites you submit, competitor domains, audit configuration, saved preferences, reports, support requests and chatbot conversations.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, security logs, feature usage, diagnostic events and information reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the service.
  • Public website data: publicly accessible technical, content, metadata, structured-data and performance signals collected when Wynsee audits a submitted website.

We aim to collect personal information that is reasonably necessary and proportionate to the purposes described in this policy.

3. How and why we use information

We use information to provide and administer Wynsee; authenticate users; perform audits, monitoring and reports; manage subscriptions; provide customer support; maintain chat history and follow-up requests; send operational communications; prevent fraud and abuse; secure and troubleshoot the platform; comply with law; and improve our products.

Legal bases where GDPR-style laws apply

Depending on the activity, our legal basis may be performance of a contract, steps requested before entering a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Wynsee and improving business services, or consent where consent is required. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Wynsee's scores, recommendations and analytical outputs assist business decision-making. We do not intend to make solely automated decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Website scanning and customer responsibility

Wynsee scans publicly accessible website information submitted by account holders, such as HTTP responses, page metadata, links, structured data and other signals relevant to search and AI visibility analysis. Customers are responsible for ensuring they are authorized to submit and audit the websites and data they add to Wynsee and for complying with laws and third-party rights applicable to their use of the service.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate Wynsee, such as cloud hosting, database, authentication, email, customer communication, payment, analytics, security and infrastructure providers. They receive information only as reasonably necessary for their functions and are expected to protect it under applicable contractual and legal obligations.

We may also disclose information when required by law or valid legal process; to protect Wynsee, our users or others from fraud, abuse, security threats or unlawful conduct; in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization or sale of business assets subject to appropriate safeguards; or when you direct or authorize us to do so.

Wynsee does not sell personal information for money. If our practices later constitute “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under an applicable privacy law, we will provide the notices and opt-out mechanisms that law requires.

6. International data transfers

Wynsee is an online service and our providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use legally recognized mechanisms or other appropriate protections, such as contractual safeguards, adequacy mechanisms, or consent where permitted. Cross-border disclosures involving Australia or New Zealand will be handled in accordance with applicable requirements, including relevant protections for overseas recipients.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing the service, maintaining legitimate business and security records, complying with tax/accounting or legal obligations, resolving disputes and enforcing agreements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information, account status, contractual requirements and applicable law. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information where it no longer identifies an individual.

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration and disclosure. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Where required by applicable law, we will provide notifications concerning qualifying personal-data breaches.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal information; correction of inaccurate information; deletion or erasure; restriction of processing; data portability; objection to certain processing; withdrawal of consent; or information about categories, sources, purposes and recipients of personal information. You may also have the right to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling, and to receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

Australian and New Zealand users may request access to and correction of personal information as provided by applicable law. EU/EEA and UK users may also have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR and may lodge a complaint with their competent data-protection authority. Other users may complain to the regulator with jurisdiction over them where applicable.

To exercise a privacy right, email hello@wynsee.ai. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where applicable law permits. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may retain information where an exception or legal obligation permits or requires us to do so.

9. Cookies, analytics and communications

Wynsee may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, preferences and service operation, and may use analytics technologies to understand product performance. Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential technologies, we will request it before using them.

We may send transactional or service communications necessary to operate your account. Marketing communications, if sent, will include legally required choices to unsubscribe or opt out. Opting out of marketing does not prevent essential account, billing, security or service messages.

10. Children

Wynsee is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children in circumstances requiring parental authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

11. Changes, questions and complaints

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Wynsee, our providers, business practices or legal requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice before material changes take effect.

If you have a privacy question, complaint, access/correction request or other data-protection request, contact us first so we can investigate and respond. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited under applicable privacy or consumer-protection law.
